Goal: A Mate

Bachelor Auction, #2

Kelly is the werewolf pack princess who has started a new business with a friend and is now overwhelmed by a rival cat shifter group giving them a hard time. At the same time Kelly’s father demands she choose a mate or he will. The problem is Kelly has a Mate she just does not want to pick him because he is her best friend’s younger brother. Brandon, a former hockey player, knows what he wants from his life after hockey and its Kelly his mate. Now he has to step up and make her understand that he loves her.

The beginning of the story leaves you intrigued. By the end of the first chapter, I could not wait to finish the book. The author did a good job of bringing the reader in to her world and making the world she created very realistic. The pace of the story was a bit slow at some points and fast is others. Once I started this book, I had a hard time putting it down. The main characters and the secondary characters were enchanting and authentic. What I enjoyed was that both Kelly and Brandon had faults and were not perfect that made them realistic.

The point of view alternated between Kelly and Brandon, giving the reader a glimpse inside both characters. The changing point of view was done in a way so the reader did not get lost or story lines were repeated. The conflict kept the story moving and as the conflict built it was realistic. At no time was the conflict of the story overwhelming, nor was it too little either. The dialogue between the characters was honest and unique. The characters voice seemed to matched not only the setting but fit their overall personality. The ending was a bit predictable but the author takes the reader on a wonderful journey. I hope we get to see these characters again in the future.

Goal: A Mate is the second book in the Bachelor Auction series by Selena Illyria. This book can be read and enjoyed as a standalone novel with ease.

Werewolf Pack Princess Kelly is overwhelmed with her new business, trouble with the rival cat shifters, and trying to ignore the attraction to her best friend’s younger brother. By bidding on Brandon in the Bachelor Auction, she thought she was just doing him a favor, saving him from the craziness. But now that she’s won him, her wolf wants to mark him as her mate, and she’s starting to lose control. So when he whisks her away for his birthday weekend, how can she say no? As a former hockey player and werewolf, Brandon knows all about being pulled in different directions. And he knows exactly what he’s asking for when he pursues a relationship with the already overwhelmed Kelly. She may be five years older than he is, and the daughter of his pack’s Alpha, and his sister’s best friend and business partner, but none of that matters. There’s only one person he wants to spend his birthday with, and he’s not going to let her refuse. And when Brandon has his eye on the goal, there’s nothing that can stop him...
