Cooper's Condition

The Agency, #3

Seth set up and alien encounter group to figure out what happened to him, and during that meeting he meets a man named Cooper. Cooper tells a tale that in parts is very similar to his own story. Cooper met Micha and the chemistry is off the charts however an alien abduction leaves them each at a loss as to what to do next as well as a health scare for Cooper.

The beginning of the story continues the story line from the prior book. By the end of the first chapter, I was interested how this story would unfold. The author did a good job of continuing to create her world. The world she does create is very realistic, even with the unrealistic storyline. The pace of the story was a bit slow in the beginning and picked up speed as the story went along. The characters were fascinating and believable. I liked that Cooper, Micha, and Seth were not perfect and each had flaws that made them realistic. I would have like more scenes with Evan in them.

The point of view started with Seth then segwayed to Cooper. I would have liked to see Cooper’s and Micha story from Micha’s point of view. The changing point of view was done with care so the reader did not get lost or repeat story lines. The main conflict is the alien encounter and expected results from it. The story line left you wanting to know more. The level of conflict was perfect considering the length of the story, any more and it would have been too overwhelming. The dialogue between the characters was honest and unique. The characters voice matched not only the setting but fit their overall personality. The ending was a bit predictable but considering the length of the story at 65 pages, it was not unexpected. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

Cooper’s Condition is the third book in The Agency series by Jacey Holbrand. This book is best read as part of the series to get a better picture of the characters the overall story line.
