Caly Arling is an independent and headstrong woman who is an attorney by day and writer by night. She is a heavy woman who has learned to grab life by the horns. The one thing she does not want is a relationship.
Evan Morrell is a hot and sexy architect who wants more than a one-night stand with Caly. He is going to do everything in his power to achieve that.
The beginning of the story leaves readers interested to see how this book will end. By the end of the first chapter, I could not wait to finish the book. The author did a good job of drawing the reader into her world and making it very realistic. The pace of the story varied at times from too slow to too fast. The main characters and the secondary characters were fascinating and true to life. I liked that both Caly and Evan each had faults that they each had to deal making them realistic. The chemistry between Caly and Evan at times seemed more forced.
The point of view stayed with Caly all the way through the book. At times, I would have liked to see and understand Evan’s side more. The main conflict is the relationship between Evan and Caly. Caly is interested in Evan simply because he does not respond as all the other men in her life have toward her. It’s apparent that Evan has studied Caly before and is looking for more. The dialogue between the characters was honest and unique. The characters voice matched not only the setting but fit their overall personality. The ending was a bit predictable but this book is more about the journey that Caly and Evan undertake than the end itself. I hope we get to see these characters again in the future.
Caly Arling is a headstrong, independent attorney who has always been the hunter when it came to getting men into bed. As a fat chick, she learned a long time ago to grab her world by the horns. She doesn’t do relationships; she takes what she wants and sends the man on his way.
When Caly meets sexy architect Evan Morrell, her world is thrown topsy-turvy. He doesn’t respond to her advances the way she’s used to men responding—yet he seems interested. Evan pulls her from her game of hunter/prey into his, which includes rope, blindfolds, and spanking benches. Can Caly break old habits in order to explore this powerfully sensual world with a man who inspires her most staggering emotions?
