Kit Carson is back home to promote is latest win on the reality show Tattoo King. He has not been home in years and wants to reconnect with his family and the one woman who he could not forget. Renee LeBlanc has had a rough life and seems to finally have things going on the right track. She gave up her dream of being a tattoo artist and has a more stable job. She Kit comes back into her life she has to face the past.
The beginning of the story leaves you wondering how the book will turn out. By the end of the first chapter, I was pulled into the story and left excited to see how the story would turn out. The author did a good job of drawing the reader in to her world. She did a great job of making it very realistic. The pace of the story was a bit slow at some points and fast is others. The main characters and the secondary characters were fascinating and realistic. I loved that both Kit and Renee each had faults that they had to deal with making them realistic.
The point of view alternated between Renee and Kit, giving the reader a glimpse inside both characters. The changing point of view was done with care so the reader did not get lost or repeat story lines. The main conflict of the story is Kit coming back to town and facing the past, he left behind. The characters fit the story and the main conflict. The level of conflict was perfect, anymore and it would have detracted from the overall storyline. The dialogue between the characters was genuine and distinctive. The characters voice matched not only the setting but fit their overall personality. The ending was a bit predictable but the book takes the reader on a wonderful journey. I hope we get to see these characters again in the future.
Bound Memories is the third book in the Bayou Bound series by Sidney Bristol. While this book is part of a series, it can be read and enjoyed as a standalone novel with ease.
