Cheyenne Surrender is a classic Western Romance that will leave you wanting more. By the time the book is over, the characters will feel like people you've known forever. Ms. Baker creates characters that people can relate to. This is a reprint of a book that was originally published in the late 1980’s, so the dialogue might seem a little dated to today’s generation of romance readers. Despite that though, I’m sure they would enjoy the story very much if they gave it a try. This is one book that you won’t want to put down once you've started reading it.
Callie is looked down on by everyone in town because her mother was a whore. Caleb is viewed with suspicion and barely tolerated because he is a half-breed, though a very rich one. Caleb hires Callie to be his new housekeeper and cook. Eventually they come to know each other, and eventually fall for each other. Their new found happiness is threatened by lies, jealous people and Caleb’s own omission about his father’s ranch.
Callie has the reputation of a wanton, ready and willing to succumb to any man who can pay the price for her lush body. But her innocent kisses, her sweetness, say far more to Caleb. He suspects she’s untouched, even as the whole town of Cheyenne whispers Callie is no better than the woman who raised her—the mistress of Caleb’s own father. The handsome half-breed is conflicted. Does he want Callie on his arm in wedding white? Or on his bed in warm, ivory flesh?
