Amaury is a vampire with a curse. He is constantly assaulted by the feelings of others, yet cannot feel any emotion himself, only a constant and sometimes debilitating headache. The only ease from the onslaught, that he's found are feeding and sex. Nina is killing vampires, because she believes they killed her brother, Eddie. She doesn't know he's been turned into a vampire. She hunts down vampires, hoping to avenge him. One night she tries to kill Amaury and fails. Samson and his Scanguards vampire employees are already aware that someone is creating what seems to be an army of vampires. Samson brings in his second in command, Gabriel from New York. Amaury realizes that Nina stops the barrage of emotions, in fact in her presence, he senses nothing. He eventually tricks her into blood bonding with him, hoping that she'll come around to things later. Nina is angry when she finds out what Amaury did, but eventually comes to accept it, as she really does love Amaury. The Scanguards employee's eventually find out who is creating the army of vampires and why. Will Eddie and his sister be reunited?
I loved this book from beginning to end. The story of how Amaury got his curse is poignant, and makes it all that much better that his curse was broken and he finds love with Nina. If you've never read a book by Tina Folsom, I urge to go out and get one. You'll be hooked, and you'll never regret it. I think her storytelling ability is amazing. If you wrapped Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Nora Roberts and Danielle Steel and Laurell K. Hamilton up in one writer, Tina would be what you would get. Enjoy some unique and enthralling writing.
Vampire Amaury LeSang is cursed to feel everybody's emotions like a permanent migraine. The only way to alleviate the pain is through sex. When he meets the feisty human woman Nina, a cure for his ailment seems within reach: in her presence all pain vanishes.
Unfortunately, Nina is out to kill him because she believes he's involved in her brother's death. And she would succeed if only Amaury's bad boy charm didn't play havoc with her hormones and catapulted her into his arms and his bed every time she was near him.
As every kiss brings them physically closer, danger is lurking and threatens to destroy the little trust they have in each other.
