Butterfly Unpinned

Butterfly is one of four sex slaves owned by Gary Sanderson. Agoraphobic, Butterfly credits Gary with saving her life. He shelters and feeds her and in return she puts up with his atrocities, some of which she enjoys. Loyal and sure of her place in the world, Butterfly doesn't question his cruelty.

That is, until Brian Lapahie is hired by Gary to carve scuptures of the four women. When Butterfly serves him, he becomes entranced by her and curious about the lifestyle. Soon, he becomes repulsed by Gary's mistreatment of the women and decides to save Butterfly.

When he broaches Gary on the topic of purchasing her, Gary laughs believing his hold over Butterfly is insurmountable. They come to an agreement that hinges on Butterfly's choice.

I don't want to spoil the story by giving a further synopsis of the plot.

Butterfly Unpinned is one of the most fascinating stories I've read in a while. Before I go on, let me say I am not in the BDSM lifestyle, nor do I read BDSM material often. If you get queazy reading BDSM or if you require perfect heros and heroines, then this book is not for you. Brian and Butterfly come across as real people, flaws and all.

While this book has parts that were horrible to me, Butterfly and Brian's character development and their relationship overshadowed it all. I felt I knew these people and that I understood why Butterfly would have been driven to commit herself as a slave. Her slow ascent away from her master and even her interactions with him felt real.

I also enjoyed the scenes set on the Indian Reservation. Aside from a glimpse into the world of hard-core sex slavery, the reader is given the chance to see into the world of the Navajo. I felt this story took me to two places I've never been and isn't that one of the motivations for reading?

Book Blurb for Butterfly Unpinned

Slavery was her refuge…now it's time to fly free.

Navajo woodworker Bryan Lapahie can't believe his luck. He's been hired to create sculptures for a wealthy photographer's wildly opulent mansion. Once inside, he finds his new boss is a man of many possessions--and an appetite for BDSM so extreme it makes Bryan's own Dominant tendencies look tame.

Of the four submissives enslaved at the mansion, it is quiet Butterfly who captures his interest. Her vulnerable beauty stirs his fantasies...and awakens his protective instincts.

Butterfly wanted only two things: to feel protected, and to satisfy her craving for hardcore kink. She found both... with the wrong guy. She'd almost forgotten how to be a normal person until a man with flowing dark hair enters the mansion. Suddenly, her safe haven is looking more and more like a prison, and all she can think about is breaking free--with Bryan.

To rescue her, Bryan is more than willing to lay everything on the line. But simply walking away isn't as easy as it seems...

Content Warning: Extreme masochistic tortures and degradation as well as joyful BDSM acts between loving partners.
