When Doctor Tori Spinelli finds a distinctive package of drugs on her third dead teenager in a month, she does something that she had vowed never to do, She contacted her dead brother's partner, Officer Michael Tanner, on impulse. Busting in during a drug deal she has to play along and act like she and Michael are intimate, but while they are involved in their act the targets steal her wallet from her purse. Now she has to hide out with the one man that she has reason to never want to see again and finds herself falling in love. But Michael tells lies for a living and he's hurt her before. Can Tori really trust him with her heart?
Bronwyn Green is an amazing writer; she manages to tell a strong and compelling story in a very short package. I love how Tori is strong enough to stand up for herself and how Michael is willing to put his ego on the line when it counts. A great read and one that I will probably revisit.
