Doggy Style

In Ashley Ladd's newest release, Doggy Style, Devon Barrett seems to be in the doghouse everywhere right now.  He's been suspended from his job and is under review by the medical board; his creditors are banging down his door; his car quit; and the baseball team he plays for has a new sponsor and name; Who ever heard of calling a team "Doggy Style"?  The only up side to the whole thing is that Sandy Falco, the new sponsor for the team, is gorgeous.  But can Devon and Sandy overcome the fact that Devon has been accused of negligence in the death of Sandy's nephew?

Doggy Style is a cute fast paced story for the most part.  I really liked the beginning, the tension and word play was very good and the middle flowed well, but toward the end things got a little bit confusing as events seemed to happen one on top of the other with no real lead up.  With the main character exonerated of wrong doing, deciding to move, packing, and going to see his ex; not to mention the emotional angst of the other man and the dog parade, making up, fighting with the sister etc; all within a few pages it just felt a little rushed.  Though it was a great quick read, if that's what you're looking for give it a shot.

Devon Barrett hates his baseball team's new name, but the sponsor is the yummiest man he's ever met.

Devon can't stand the baseball team's new name but he falls for Sandy, the yummy new sponsor anyway. But his career as a nurse is on trial, everything's upside down, and it's not a good time to bring someone new into his life.

Against his better judgment he lets Sandy in just to find out he's the last person who is able to support him in his time of desperate need.
