YEE HAW!!! It's time for Cattle Valley Days again in our favorite GLBT-friendly community by Carol Lynne. The twelfth installment of Ms. Lynne's Cattle Valley series, Cattle Valley Days, finds our favorite men; Ryan, Rio and Nate gearing up for the local rodeo and town birthday celebration. Nate's new jobs as Mayor is taking a toll on their relationship and things seem bad for the trio. Miscommunication, fear and resentment threaten until they remember how much they mean to each other and that they are strongest as a unit. It takes the visit of their friends, the Good brother and a tragedy to remind them of their true purpose- to support and love each other.
I love this series and this book is no exception. I was on the edge of my seat from the first line, biting my nails by the middle of the story and reaching for the tissues by the end. This book was completely different from what I expected, being that it was centered around a holiday celebration. I expected light and funny in keeping with most of the others in the series that involve Nate and the guys, with maybe a hint of angst. What I got was dark and intense, but much more satisfying in the end. I can't say enough about how great this series is. If you haven't read them start from the beginning, they're well worth the time and money.
