Candy Girl

Julie Bennett was tired of being taken advantage of. Her co-workers used her for candy, even forgetting her name and calling her Candy Girl; her cousin used her for a place to live and someone to support her sorry butt, and her boyfriend used her for sex. She wanted to change, but she was afraid of offending people. Until she caught her boyfriend in bed with her cousin, had a meltdown at work and decided that she wasn't going to take any of it any more. Gabriel Carland has been lusting after Julie from day one, but she keeps running from him. When she has an emotional breakdown at work, Gabe seizes his chance to get Julie's attention and get her in his bed. But will he be able to prove that he only wants Julie or will her old habits and insecurities keep them apart.

I truly enjoyed this story. Eve Vaughn has a gifted way of keeping even an emotional story light.  I loved how Julie began to stick up for herself, especially what she does to her cousin. My favorite part, however, was how supportive Gabe was in fostering Julie's independance. Buy it, read it, you'll love it.
