Diana Palmer returns to Wyoming with the latest installment of her series Wyoming Men. Like the other books in the Wyoming Men series this book is a standalone. Fans of Palmer’s work will find familiar themes within the pages. Niki is naïve, sweet, innocent, younger than the hero, and she has severe asthma. Blair is older and more experienced, a troubled soul, and of course has issues with Niki’s age. I did find the story enjoyable, though it was predictable in some cases. As fans know Palmer has a formula that works for her and it is rare that she deviates from it. At times I felt like the story was written as if it took place in earlier times but then a modernism like Facebook would be mentioned and I’d remember it was a current timeline.
Niki Ashton is in love with Blair Coleman but she knows he’s never going to really look at her in that way. The best she can hope for is friendship and hopefully a kind word. Though there have been moments when it seemed like Blair’s heart might soften toward her, Blair has always pushed her away. Then tragedy strikes and after a close call with death it looks like her dreams of a future with Blair might actually come true. If only Blair can get past the age difference between them and realize that the only thing that matters is the love that they could share together.
New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Diana Palmer is back in Wyoming with a tale of love born in Big Sky Country…
Billionaire oilman Blair Coleman has always taken care of his business. After having been used and cast aside by a woman he thought he loved, his personal life is far from his first priority. He knows only one has ever truly cared for him—but the irresistible blonde beauty is the daughter of his best friend.
Niki Ashton has seen her father's friend wounded and she's seen him fight. Blair is the strongest—and most stubborn—man she's ever known. That very heart and passion makes him the man of her dreams, but whenever they've been in danger of getting close, Blair has always pushed her away.
It takes a possible tragedy to strip away all of Blair's misgivings. Now it's all or nothing: marriage, baby, family, forever. But will the choice be too much for Niki…or too late?
