Anne Stuart's latest foray into her diabolical Fire series is a page turner. Right from the start we are thrown into the very delicately balanced world of her heroine Sophie Jordan and her fight for survival against her evil husband. Anne Stuart doesn't write comfortable romantic suspense and often she gives us a hero which we find baffling but it makes her stories that much more interesting because you, like the heroine, never really know if you can trust the hero. Is he really a good guy? Stuart's descriptions will draw the reader into the scene quickly and you feel like you are part of a world you've never seen before or in some cases imagined. She gives you alpha male's that have to make very tough life or death decisions, and you aren't always able to guess which way the hero will choose. I did read the other two books in the series as soon as I requested this one for review and I think that made for a better experience. It gives you some background into the world and characters. All in all this was a fantastic read, I enjoyed the book and look forward to the next the book she introduces.
