If I had to sum up what this book was about in one word it would be perseverance. Specifically, our hero Kevin Kowalski's almost unending perseverance in waiting out commitment phobic Beth Hansen. It's bad enough that the first time they meet, in his bar she gets a bad impression of him as an indiscriminate playboy, but in the same meeting he gets her fired from her job. Then when fate brings them together a few nights later, his brother almost gets her fired from her second job. After a long week, Beth decides to go for it with Kevin, what more could happen? Well, seems like they end up hitting the baby lottery with that 2% non-effective clause on the condom warnings. Now, if Kevin could just get her to see that he's not the playboy she thinks he is and that he would like a happily ever after with her, they just might make it that far.
This book is filled with comedy, romance and enchanting characters. Kevin's family, which is huge, turns out to be a huge draw and they are engaging. The twist on Beth not being ready for a relationship while Kevin is ready for one is also an interesting aspect and Shannon Stacey manages to bring the two together while not making Kevin seem stalkerish. It is definitely a fun, sensual read that will leave readers crying out for more Kowalski's.
Can a one-night stand turn into happily ever after?
Bar owner Kevin Kowalski is used to women throwing their phone numbers at him. Even if lately he's been more interested in finding Mrs. Right than Miss Right Now. Enter Beth Hansen.

Kevin may be ready for the "next step," but Beth doesn't want a relationship with a former playboy, however irresistible he might be. And it's going to take a lot to convince her to go on a second date with the father of her child….
