The Argeneau Vampire novels are always a delight to read and readers will love the unending imagination of Lynsay Sands that shows through in every book. The Reluctant Vampire features Harper Stoyan who readers have seen in previous books, and who recently lost a lifemate during the turning. Harper is a kind man, resigned to fate alone after the untimely death of his lifemate when Drina Argenis steps into his life.
At first, he doesn't realize that the beautiful, sexy, lively Drina is such a blessing as another lifemate and Drina is unsure of how to move forward in their relationship if he doesn't recognize that she is his one. Drina and Harper have been brought together to guard Stephanie McGill who was unexpectedly turned in the earlier novel The Immortal Hunter. Though much younger than Drina and Harper, it's Stephanie that is able to help Drina woo Harper around to seeing her as a lifemate.
The Reluctant Vampire is a fast-paced, fun, romantic comedy that is both fresh and witty. Lightly peppered with cameos from earlier characters in the series, this book also contains the continuation of Tiny and Mirabeau's romance. Reading an Argenau novel is always a satisfying experience, and this one is not an exception. Lynsay creates a beautiful and unique story for every couple. Fans of the series will not be disappointed by Drina and Harper's journey and new readers will quickly start looking for earlier novels in the Argenau tales as well as anxiously awaiting the next one in the series.
Has this immortal finally met her match?
Rogue hunter Drina Argenis (from the Spanish side of the Argeneau family) has been many things in her years as an immortal, but bodyguard/babysitter to a teenage vampire is something new. There's an incentive, however: the other vampsitter, Harper Stoyan, may be Drina's life mate.
Trouble is, having just lost a life mate, Harper is resigned to being alone. He's completely unprepared when sexy and unpredictable Drina bursts into his life to reignite his passions. Can Drina, with a little matchmaking help from their teen charge, tempt this reluctant vampire to take a chance?
Or will a dangerous, unseen renegade kill Drina and Harper's one chance at happiness?
