"Passionately Yours" is part of the 'Hellions of High Street' series. This is the last book in the series and unfortunately I did not read the previous books. However, I still enjoyed the book and I found the interaction between Alec and Caro fun and witty. I like the way Cara Elliot took an age-old concept-–poor, intellectual, young lady needing to marry a rich, titled man of the ton, and gave it her own twist. The writing was superb and the characters well-developed. I will be checking out a few more of her books in the future.
Caro is the baby of the Sloane family and always finding herself in trouble. All of her sisters have recently married, leaving her alone, and a bit lonely. Alec, a Scottish Baron, steps in and constantly challenges not just her mind but her heart. As the two grow closer, and danger tries to take Caro away from him, they soon find that the one person they can’t live without just might be each other.
Proper young ladies of the ton-especially ones who have very small dowries-are not encouraged to have an interest in intellectual pursuits. Indeed, the only thing they are encouraged to pursue is an eligible bachelor.
Preferably one with both a title and a fortune.
So, the headstrong, opinionated Sloane sisters must keep their passions a secret.
Ah, but secret passions are wont to lead a lady into trouble . . .
