Phantom Corps, Book 2

From the first chapter, Mesmerized grabs you by the throat and leads you through an exciting twist of sensuous romantic and science fiction adventure. Lauren Dane proves she is a master at blending the two aspects of romance and science fiction by giving her fans the kind of story they adore her. Piper Roundtree is a very interesting character, and at first it seems like she and the hero are not destined to be as her life seems pretty mapped out on a certain path.

Piper and Andrei Solace knew each other when they were younger, and both were in love, but life threw a curve ball at Andrei and he ended up disappearing from her and her siblings lives. Now he is back, but only due to a mission for the Phantom Corps or so it seems. His reintroduction into her atmosphere will change the course of her life in ways she cannot begin to comprehend. His mission will soon be her mission, and together they will join forces to save the Known Universes. United against an enemy, both characters soon find themselves looking for ways to smooth their differences and make a life together even though that life may only last a few moments if the enemy has anything to say about it.

Lauren Dane's work is always a joy to read, her imagination and delivery often uncover worlds her readers had never thought to dream. Mesmerized is a well told blend of hot sensual romance and science fiction. I'm looking forward to the next book in the Phantom Corps series and wondering where Lauren Dane will take us next. This book is just one of the many reasons Lauren Dane is on my auto-buy list.
