There is a bet to be won, a secret to unveil, a lady to be seduced, a rake to tame, and a tantalizing story that flows smoothly from beginning to end. What more can a historical romance fan ask for? Every Scandalous Secret has it all. Leo Wade is a decadent rake, who is about to be done in by his own schemes. Susanna Leland is a spinster, firmly on the shelf, with a load of secrets. If she can just manage to escape Leo Wade's machinations she might be able to save her reputation. The more she is exposed to him though the more she begins to think maybe her reputation is worth the sacrifice.
Every Scandalous Secret is a fun, temptuous read. I hadn't read the first two novels in the series, but I don't think that's necessary to enjoy this one. Each seems to be standalone and tells the story of three different women who are close friends and all swear that each of them are the subject of a scandalous painting. When they break in to the gentleman's club to steal the painting back, they are caught by three rakes all of whom are quite inebriated. In a sheer moment of madness the men bet that they can discover who the model of the painting truly is and each lines up to pursue one of the women each. The latest pairing between Leo and Susan quickly ends up creating sparks between the two very different personalities. As Susan begins to know Leo better though, she realizes there is much more going on beneath his surface than she could ever have imagined.
Every Scandalous Secret is an amusing and enchanting read from the first page to the last.
The secret is out! Now the lady must surrender her heart . . . or submit to scandal.
