Defensive Zone

The Dartmouth Cobras #2

Defensive Zone was an amazing read. I absolutely loved it. I loved the characters. Silver is now in charge of the Dartmouth Cobras but she does not really know anything about hockey. Her father put her in charge but did not expect her to make any decisions at all, especially on her own. Her boyfriends break up with her not too long after and she becomes friends with Landon. The friendship starts when she is having a really bad day and he steps in and becomes her friend. He feels more for her but because all she expected was for him to hit on her he became her friend instead. She is drawn to Dean but is not sure that she likes how dominant he is. She fights her submission with him but is drawn and enjoys their time together everytime. How she works it out with Dean and how things go with Landon was great.

I absolutely loved the characters. Silver, Dean, and Landon were great. They were really well written, complex characters. There were ups and downs throughout the story that completely held my attention. Once I started reading I did not want to put it down at all. I loved the way that the characters interacted with each other and the way that things worked out. There is a really good blend with action and relationship focus. There is plenty of action in this story to keep your attention and to keep you guessing. There is quite a bit about hockey in here too and I really enjoyed that. I loved learning about the sport and getting to see the games. I love the way that everything was blended together. The sex was explicit and frequent. There is BDSM in this story but nothing that goes too far. It is all consensual and enjoyed by all parties. There is also m/f/m menege relationship that is built to last throughout the story. There are plenty of emotions in this story that are engaged throughout the story.

This is the second book in the series. I would recommend reading the first book in this series before reading this one to fully understand all of the relationship dynamics especially between Silver and her father and Silver and her sister. The first book is also a great read and the characters in that book are also in this book, though not overly major players. I love this series and can't wait for more.

Book Blurb for Defensive Zone

Silver Delgado has gained control of The Dartmouth Cobras—and lost control of her life.

Hockey might be the family business, but it's never interested Silver. Until her father's health decline thrusts responsibility for the team he owns straight into her hands. Now she has to find a way to get the team more fans, and establish herself as the new owner. Which means standing up to Dean Richter, the general manager and the advisor her father has forced on her. The fact that their 'business relationship' started with her over his lap at his BDSM club shouldn't be too much of a problem. Their hot one night stand meant nothing! But how can she earn his respect when he sees her as submissive? Can they separate work and the lifestyle she's curious to explore?

Balancing her new life away from Hollywood, living among people who see her as the selfish Delgado princess, has her feeling lost and alone until Landon Bower, the Cobras new Goalie slips into her life and becomes her best—and only—friend. The time they spend together makes everything else bearable, but before long his eyes meet hers with more than friendship, reflecting what she feels. Which could ruin everything.

Two Dominant men who see past her pretty mask and the shallow image she portrayed to the flashing cameras. A gentle attack from both sides that she can't hope to block unless she learns how to play.

But she's getting the hang of the game.
