Magnolia Mystic

The Sentinels of Savannah, #1

For some time I have been reading novels published by the author, Lisa Kessler. In that time I have enjoyed the novels I have read. "Magnolia Mystic," was yet another book that I can safely admit to liking. Although I do feel like this story would have been far better had it been a full-length book.

From this beginning, I found myself enjoying the story. It is not often that a gal like myself can find herself within the company of a pirate hero. This story is a mixture of descriptive tones from the salty spray of the sea, the fishy smell of a harbor and of course the romance. I do think the romance was too short.

The plot of the story was good. It was entertaining and a bit slow. The novella is ten chapters long. I feel this fact represents my earlier reference to how the romance felt pushed along by the author. Still, the attraction between the characters was passionate enough and the plot was stable. I do not have many complaints.

I am looking forward to reading the rest of this series and I plan to do so.
