“Embracing Her Heart,” was yet another sultry victory for the author, Melissa Foster whose writing I have always embraced with joy and the favoritism certainly continues to move forward. With, Melissa Foster I feel like the author truly knows how to pen the perfect romance story and not just a memorable romance but at best I think that Foster herself is at the very heart of the romance industry itself. So if as a reader you have not read a book by this author then I immensely suggest that you start doing so and stop denying yourself the pleasure that you deserve.
To be honest I was swept away by this book. The plot was outstanding, the romance was steamy, the Virginia landscape was the perfect backdrop, but I think it was the heart of the overall book that blew me away the most. Both the characters, Grace and Reed were on the run from the demons of their past. Neither of the twosome were looking for love, maybe a few nights of some much needed fun, but definitely not love. I’m not giving anything away (romance novel after all) by declaring that romance was exactly the cure for what these two individuals needed the most. I felt like Grace was the character that I could relate to the most. She just reminded me so much of myself and maybe that is why I liked Grace so well. It is always so rewarding to be able to develop a relationship with the characters as a reader and with Foster’s books you can always expect to do so as the reader.
As much as I love this book I did feel that a little bit of the story did drag on for more time then what I felt like was actually necessary and this was the only downside that I had to the story itself. The center of the book is where I felt like things began to slow down and not much happened that was at least worth mentioning in this review. Still, without certain pieces of what I would call valuable information during such scenes I would not have been able to adopt the characters as well as I did. So perhaps this fault is actually just my own.
In the end, you need to read this story. It is beautiful, raw and most importantly it holds the promise of a new beginning which is something I think we all search for and hope to find in the arms of someone. I know that I was immediately hooked with minimum effort and if I am being truthful that does not happen to me that often but once you read “Embracing Her Heart,” I think you will be too.
