The title "Love Hurts" really fits. Shania is in love with Beck, but he comes home from Iraq with no memory of her. Meanwhile, Shania and Morgan fall in love with each other while he is the only person providing emotional support to her, but they don't tell each other how they feel. He gets engaged to another woman, and Shania finally admits her feelings just before his wedding ceremony. He lets her go without telling her that he loves her, too, and the misunderstandings continue.
As I began reading this book, I did not think I was going to like it at all. Too much could have been cleared up quickly with just a little more communication between Shania and Morgan. However, as I kept reading I realized that it could very well be a true story. These people are just trying to do the right thing. I learned to really like them, especially Morgan. What an amazing and selfless man! And sweet little Justin is all that a three year-old should be - cute, funny, loving, and stubborn. When he calls Morgan "Daddy", the reader knows what it means to Morgan. That love is never in doubt.
There are some downright mean people in this story, as well as some implausible situations. I wanted to slap a few people more than once. Overall, though, I found it a heartwarming love story that I would recommend.
