Suck and Blow

Party Games, Book 1

Frankie Winchester grew up a rich kid with no boundaries. She is smart and firmly believes in playing harder than she works. Yes, Frankie does work. She's a talent PR for almost 50 of Australia's famous or infamous. Tonight she's attending a party at supermodel Lil's family home with a good friend from school, Mikaila.

The party is as different as Lil and she's going a great job. There are areas around the house where guests can play children's games such as Twister, Truth or Dare and Suck and Blow.

Also attending this party is another person from school, Alec Harris.

Alec grew up in a working class family, much different than Frankie's family. His father came into money and it was decided that Alec and his brother would get the best education that money could buy. They problem was the other kids knew they were "cheap money" and teased them, especially Alec. Alec tried to impress Frankie but all he did was piss her off as he bested her in everything they did.

Now, as they met at this party, many years later, Alec is still attracted to Frankie but will she admit that she might be interested too or will her dislike of Alec from school continue to rule her emotions?

This is the first book in a series called Party Games. The books will not all be written by the same author but will revolve around games played at parties. Apparently I missed this particular game growing up, Suck and Blow, but it's well described in this story. Definitely interesting!

The characters are interesting and well done. Frankie's past is explored as she tries to resolve her past feelings towards Alec and the ones she's currently experiencing. Alec not only is dealing with his past but his future. He's been offered a job that could make him a household name but he's not interested. Unfortunately, his brother is not going to let it go, bothering Alec about the contract as Alec is more concerned about Frankie! Frankie has brought Mikaila to the party to forget about her ex, but it seems she's run into some old school friends too. The interactions between all the characters bring them to life and give them a depth that was unexpected.

Most of this story was set at the party. This was an absolutely perfect setting. From Frankie trying to evade discovery to making out in the powder room, each scene come across as possible. There was action going on continuously as Frankie and Alec played their own games among the ones set for the party.

Dark corners, empty rooms and a stolen kiss can lead into some very hot sexual scenes and these scenes are hot. Get ready for some very graphic and intense sex. Bottom line, the games being played may be some what innocent children's games but the results are anything but innocent!

This is a fun story which has a big bang for as short as it is. Things move quickly yet not so quick that you feel something is missing. Possible story lines for future stories are incorporated in this one with surprising ease and tantalizing glimpses into some interesting lives.

This is a great story to start off this series of stories. It grabs your interest and keeps it. The characters are believable and likeable. If I had any complaint, it would be I would have loved it to be a bit longer but for all that, I truly enjoyed this story and look forward to reading the next one.
