Something to Talk About

Plum Orchard

Secrets are everywhere in this book set in Plum Orchard. Unfortunately, in this small southern town secrets are known to become gossip very quickly and some secrets will change people’s lives. Many of these secrets surround Em, including her no-strings sex meetings with handsome single dad, Jax. Everyone is fairly sure those no-strings thoughts aren’t going to work for either of them. The humor that was present in the previous books of this series is still present in this one as are many of the characters that you have to love. However, more characters are introduced which add even more interest to this small town and a greater desire for more books! Hey, Jax has two single brothers and there are some unique women who work at Call Girls. Juggling single parenthood, exes and an attraction that becomes hot and steamy quickly is quite an act and is pretty entertaining. You just have to love it!

While this book is part of a series, it is not necessary to read any previous book to thoroughly enjoy this one. Each stands alone.

Em is dealing with her ex-husband leaving so he can dress in women’s clothing. However, his secret isn’t a secret any longer and is causing their children grief. Em is also having to learn how to be single but she has help with the girls she works with. An unexpected phone call from a young girl has Em concerned about how that call got through and the company’s security. The child’s father, Jax, is just angry his daughter got through to someone. When Jax becomes the man in charge of updating the security, Em has problems staying away. Then again so does Jax.

Book Blurb for Something to Talk About

Sexy is as sexy does. And in Plum Orchard, sugar, it does!

Emmeline Amos is sick of her ex saying she's boring and prissy. After all, she works for a phone-sex company! (As general manager, but still.) On a rare girls' night out, fueled by blender drinks and bravado, Em accepts a shocking dare—to handle a call herself. But it's tipsy Em who gets an earful from an irate single father on the other end of the line. Awkward.

But not as awkward as discovering that same mad dad is Call Girls' gorgeous new programmer. Jax Hawthorne is still upset that his daughter called the "girlfriend store" on his behalf, but he can't deny he'd choose a hot-librarian type like Em if he were looking for love. Which he's not.

Em wants to do more than just talk the talk. So she makes a bawdy bargain with Jax. They've both been burned before—this time, they'll keep it strictly physical. Except as soon as they settle on no strings attached, things start to get tangled….
