Shattered Silence

Echo Falls

Hiding in plain sight is the first thing that popped into my head when thinking of this romantic suspense book. Two reasons for that is Rachel is hiding among the Amish, plain people, and she is out and about with them if you know to look. But, this story is so much more than someone pretending to be Amish. There is a life and death mystery going on and Rachel ends up in the middle of it! Emotions are all over the place and the person behind everything is really well hid. The characters are well written and very believable. It was easy to care about them and become wrapped up in their lives. I truly enjoyed "Shattered Silence" and while I wouldn’t call this an Amish romance, they do play a big part in the story. The mystery and suspense are great.

The Story: Rachel just wants her ex to sign the papers so she can sell the house they bought together. She hates that she has to track him down to get him to do so. Once at his office, she is surprised to see him in his boss’ office taking a memory stick. He immediately disappears and his boss thinks he stole industry secrets. Hiring private investigators, Rachel is questioned and seems to be a suspect. Needing a place to hide, she turns to her mother’s Amish family. Is she bringing them trouble or can she hide there in peace?
