This short story follows Amery and Ronin about 6 months after their marriage during their first trip to Japan for a belated honeymoon/training for Ronin. While this is like an epilog of the previous two books in the Mastered series, you could potentially like this story but it really is for the fans of the first two books. In this story, you meet Ronin’s sensei, Ronin’s grandfather and an introduction into the Japanese life. Yet, this is still a love story. Amery and Ronin still have a lot to learn about each other and Ronin is torn between the needs of his wife and the needs of his sensei. The emotional pull of the characters will have you glued to the page while the drama keeps peaking your interest. Personally, I don’t think Ms James can write a bad book. From start to finish, I enjoyed returning to Amery and Ronin’s lives and seeing how their relationship is progressing. These unique characters are quickly becoming favorites.
Ronin is taking Amery to Japan with him. Though he has training scheduled with his sensei, he also has a couple of free weeks which he plans to use as a belated honeymoon. He also wants to introduce Amery to his grandfather. While Amery is more than willing to go, she soon finds herself in a culture she doesn’t always understand and surrounded by a language totally foreign to her. Ronin is working long hours with his sensei leaving her alone and feeling neglected. Will this tear them apart or make them closer?
From the New York Times bestselling “master of erotic romance”* and author of Unraveled, Bound and Unwound comes the all-new novella in the Mastered series.
When Amery Hardwick first met martial arts master Ronin Black, she wasn’t ready for the primal urges his sensual rope artistry released in her. As it turned out Amery and Ronin were made for each other. But when they head to Japan for a delayed honeymoon and Ronin’s annual training with his sensei, Amery struggles to adapt to the foreign customs as well as running her burgeoning business from afar. But culture shock is the least of her worries when faced with the changes in Ronin—it feels as if she’s married a stranger. Caught between his sensei’s demands and pleasing his wife, Ronin is at war with himself over choosing advancement in his jujitsu training, or staying at home with the woman who owns his heart and soul. As the limits of their relationship are tested once again, Ronin and Amery discover that they both have a lot to learn about each other….and what it takes to build a love that’ll pass all life’s little tests.
