Lead singer for the Sinners, Sed Lionheart could have his pick of women and he picks quite a few of them every night. He may have sex with them but he never engages his emotions. It's just a release and sometimes a chore. A couple of years ago, Sed was engaged to Jessica Chase. This were looking going well, for not only the couple but the band until Jessica got a letter which thrilled her but caused their heartbreaking break up.
Jessica has dreamed of being a lawyer since she was a young child. Now, that she's gotten a letter stating she's been accepted to law school she expects her fianc‚e to be thrilled for her, not tell her it's school or him! Unwilling to drop her dreams and really expecting Sed to relent, she makes her way to law school and out of Sed's life. During her second year she fails a class, loosing her scholarship and forcing her to find a well paying job for the summer. The only things she can find is as a stripper in Vegas.
Sed agrees to go out with the rest of the band to a strip joint. He doesn't expect is to see Jessica as one of the attractions. Last he heard she was doing well in law school. After throwing his coat over her and dragging her off the stage, the bouncers come over to protect Jessica. When they attack Sed, the rest of the Sinners attack them. Band members are hurt but Jessica agrees to come with Sed.
Sed's actions cause Jessica to loose her job but Myrna, one of the band member's soon to be wife, offers her excellent pay if she'll help her with a study she's doing for a paper. It will mean traveling with the Sinners but Jessica doesn't have much choice if she wants to attend law school in the fall. Can she keep her heart whole while seeing Sed every day? What about all the women he brings back to the bus?
This is the second book in Ms Cunning's Sinners of Tour series. I'm going to be honest. This book sat on my shelf for several weeks as the review wasn't due to several more weeks and I had books that needed to be reviewed before this one. Finally, I couldn't wait any longer and had to read it. I loved the first book and had high hopes for the second one. Heck, if it was only half as good as the first book, it would still be awesome.
The characters are outstanding. Each is unique and yet each compliments each other. The band is a tight group and they know each other well. Sed wants to take care of those people he loves, even if they don't want it. He's positive he knows what is the right thing to do and a lot of times this makes him look like a controlling jerk. Still, as much as you'd like to smack him, he want to hug him even more. Jessica is really likeable. She's extremely beautiful but just as smart. She love to nurture people but will stand up for what she believes is right.
The band is just what you'd expect a hard rock band to be; sexy, naughty and ready to party. These guys have women throwing themselves at them and what guy wouldn't take what was offered? Sex is the norm and walking in on it isn't always embarrassing, sometimes it's expected. There are a few kinks but as long as everyone is of age and no one gets hurt, it's all good.
There is some serious stuff in this story too. Along with all the good stuff comes some bad, like drug addictions. You don't always expect it and it's not always what you expect. Coming through it is hard and nothing is glossed over.
However, on the plus side we get to meet band member, Trey's older brother, Dare. He's just as endearing as Trey. If you're going to add more characters, a few more sexy rockers is the way to go!
So, was it as good as the first book? Was the temptation worth it? Oh, YEAH!!!! I'm loving the rides on the Sinner's tour bus and even their stops at home. I'm enjoying watching characters grow and dynamics shift and change. The sex is incredible and the love is even better. Each rocker has a piece of my heart and I can't wait to see where they end up next.
This is the second book in the series but it can be read without having read the first book. Take my word for it though, you want to read the first book. These bad boys of rock will rock your world like no one else. Their women are strong and feisty. Their lives are interconnected and separate, complex and yet simple. Peeping into their world only makes you want to join them again
Sinner’s lead singer, Sed, had his heart shredded when Jessica left him to pursue her dreams,so when she dances her way back into his life, he's not sure he's ready for her brand of pain, or pleasure, again. When she convinces Sed to engage in a benefits with benefits relationship, things seem to be going his way, until one of his fans catches their explicit public display of affection on film and posts it all over the internet. Will Jessica ever trust Sed again? And has Sed become the man of Jessica’s dreams or is he just posing to get what he wants?
