This is a great contemporary romance and not at all what I was expecting. There is absolutely nothing cookie cutter about this story. From beginning to end, I grinned as Matt worked on changing himself. His angst was just fun to read because it had a comic side to it instead of just pure drama. Truly, he was a terrific character that I loved. Vivienne is just as much fun. She knows what she wants and there are just something she isn’t willing to compromise on. Though the story revolved around these two characters, there are band mates, friends, family and more that fill out the world. Some of these characters will be familiar to those who have read stories about the Shaughnessy band and family. This is not part of the Shaughnessy family series but more of a spin-off of Riley Shaughnessy’s book. Regardless, this is an awesome story that I just loved.
Matt is the well-known guitar player from the band Shaughnessy. He knows he’s talented which is how he thought he could take the lead in a Broadway play. Unfortunately, he bombed and now the media is all over him. Matt is trying his best to hide. Vivienne has had a crush on Matt since he ran around with her older brother. Now, he’s hiding in her brother’s house. She isn’t putting up with his moping but can she keep her attraction as secret as his location?
