No One To Trust

Lexi Carmichael is a single white female geek. She's just left her job at NSA and is currently a reformed hacker. Now, she's working for Finn Shaughnessy at a brand new company. She's working in computer security while she'd love to be working Finn but has no idea how.

Finn has noticed Lexi but he's also found their first customer, or rather, the first customer has come to them. Flow Technologies has a genus researcher who has come up missing. That isn't exactly the type of work Finn was looking for but Darren left a note and Lexi's name in on it. Too bad Lexi doesn't know Darren and has no idea why her name would be associated to him.

No one else seems to understand that as Lexi is threatened for information that she doesn't have.

As for her love life...Finn does invite her out but it doesn't go exactly as expected. Lexi's best friend has decided to hire a stripper to teach Lexi some moves. And, Slash, an Italian super geek/spy, keeps popping up when Lexi least expects him. Can Lexi find Darren and get a love life?

This is the second book about Lexi and her adventures. You don't have to read the first book, No Lives Twice, to thoroughly enjoy this one. While the characters are the same, the story is totally independent to the previous book.

The first thing you notice about this story is the humor. It's so intertwined through the entire story that you can't separate it for it and you wouldn't want to. Being a geek, Lexi is pretty much serious. Kidnapping or disappearing is also pretty serious as is being threatened. Yet, Ms Moffett has taken all these serious things and made them fun. Even if the mystery of who done it isn't done as well as it could be or the romance isn't steamy, this humor could carry the story by itself.

However, the who done it is done well. Trying to figure out where Darren is becomes a lot harder than anyone thought. Lots of extra characters are brought in including a dead guy! As everyone works on where Darren is, it becomes apparent that maybe the question should be why did Darren disappear! As the pieces of the puzzle begin to come together, its' a bit shocking.

Alright, Lexi is interested in Finn and Finn asks her out. That should be the start of a good romance except nothing in Lexi's life goes according to plan. The sexy, rich Irishman better watch out though. There is another man in Lexi's life that is interested in more than her brain.

I thoroughly and completely loved this book. It was fun and interesting and left me wanting more. The ending was totally not expected by me or Lexi and adds an interesting dimension to this series. The characters are unique and quirky giving these books a fresh youthful feel.

I couldn't wait to read this book. Once started, I hated to put it down. And now finished, I'm ready for more.

Book Blurb for No One To Trust

SWFG: Single, White, Female, Geek.

That's me, Lexi Carmichael, a reformed hacker who was gainfully employed by the National Security Agency. But a series of extraordinary events led me to leave government life behind for a fresh start with a brand-new company and an incredibly sexy boss, Finn Shaughnessy. It may not be kosher to have the hots for your boss, but he seems to have the hots for me, too. If only things didn't get so complicated...

Darren Greening, a genius researcher from Flow Technologies (our first client!) is missing, and his bosses think I'm involved. And they aren't the only ones—the man who nearly snapped my neck in the parking garage thinks so, too.

Now I'm caught in the middle of a complex and dangerous case. I'll have to use all my geek skills and a little help from my friends to solve the mystery of Darren's disappearance before Neck-Snapping-Man makes a return visit...
