For those who are fans of Lora Leigh’s Nauti series, expect another wonderful addition to the series complete with most of the characters that you love and know, though the original Nauti boys are getting old. (that is per the book as I don’t consider in your 40s old) For those who haven’t read this series, each book stands alone so you can start anywhere in it but you might not understand all of the references to previous actions. As usual, there is plenty of action, in and out of bed, with a killer on the loose and secret spy stuff happening. The sex scenes are generally done well though one seemed to be almost a rape scene. Guns blare and an unexpected ally helps out as Lyrica tries to stay alive and her brother Dawg and uncle Natchez try not to kill the man who keeps rescuing her, Graham. Lyrica comes across as a naïve virgin but with Dawg as her brother, he’s taught her some tricks. Graham is a bit paranoid, though not as bad as Natchez, and still has his fingers in undercover work. All in all, this is a fun romance to read where you know how it’s going to end but the journey getting there will keep your interest and leave you wanting more. Yeah, these Nauti books can be addicting.
Lyrica just wanted to go shopping. She doesn’t expect to be shot at or having to run for her life. Terrified she tries calling everyone on her call list and can’t get her phone to work. Finally, she gets a text from her best friend using her brother’s secure phone. Within minutes Graham is racing to Lyrica’s aid and hiding her in his home. This presents a few problems. While Lyrica is attracted to Graham, she has no desire to be his flavor of the month or to mess up her friendship with his sister. Graham knows if he starts anything with Lyrica, her brother and uncles will be watching he every move and looking for a reason to hurt him. So, where do they go from here?
When Dawg Mackay made his four half-sisters part of his family, he vowed that he would care for and protect them with everything he had. But what happens now that the girls are all grown up? The Mackay girls are on the loose, and Somerset County will never be the same?
Lyrica Mackay has wanted tall, handsome Marine Graham Brock for as long as she can remember. Unfortunately, Graham only sees her as his friend Dawg Mackay’s ?baby sister.” Or so she believes. The truth is, the fiery party girl stirs something in Graham no female ever has. But Graham, like everyone in Somerset County, knows that trouble stalks the Mackays like bears track honey, and when a Mackay runs as hot as Lyrica does, someone’s bound to get burned.
Then Graham discovers that Lyrica’s wild side is just a cover for a frightened and vulnerable woman who needs something true and genuine, something only Graham can offer. But surrendering his heart to Lyrica exposes them both to her shocking past?and a sinister secret that, once exposed, could destroy their only chance at happiness and shake the Mackay family to its core.
