Moses Brown is the police detective that gets the “full moon” cases, that is the cases that seem to bring out the crazies. The problem is, not everyone is crazy. There are things out there that are not human. It’s Detective Brown’s job to figure out which is which and takes care of the issue regardless. Tonight he’s just plan tired when he’s told a “full moon” case is in interrogation room 1.
Melanie Bradshaw knows what she saw and she saw a man killed and turned into dust. She doesn’t understand it but she knows she needs to report it. Will anyone in the police station believe her?
Moses watches Melanie and realizes that this woman is scared, she may be crazy but she’s definitely scared. After talking to her, he knows she’s seen something she shouldn’t have and the vampires will be coming for her. He decides to go home with her to keep her safe.
That’s all he plans on doing even though his body is telling him something totally different. Melanie is going to push that issue and Moses is going to find himself in his own paranormal situation. You see, Melanie turns into a winged, blue woman who can sexually suck you dry of your life force!
This is the eighth book in My Immortal Knight series. You do not have to read the previous books to thoroughly enjoy this one. This story is complete as is but you may see some characters that appear throughout the series.
This book is a quickie. It only has around 50 pages so it won’t take long to read. Even though it is short, it is a complete story. It actually feels longer than it is because of how much is crammed into those few pages. That doesn’t mean it drags or it skips anything; just that it was written extremely well.
The characters are very well done. Moses Brown has seen and done a lot. He accepts things quickly but still has values and core integrity. Melanie is confused and has no idea that there is anything outside the human realm. She holds onto Moses to keep her grounded.
There is an entire world that is developed. There are two vampire camps who are amassing an Army. Different characters in the one Moses is involved with are present in this story. While not major characters, you are given enough background to get to know them.
There is plenty of hot sex in this story. That blue woman Melanie becomes in a succubus and she gets her power during sex. Blue or not, Melanie likes Detective Brown so expect her to make some moves before she even learns his first name!
I really enjoyed this quickie. I felt like I had an entire story. I liked the characters and the twists that were in the plot. There really wasn’t anything I didn’t like about this story.
Though it’s the eighth book in a series, this book is very enjoyable without having to read the rest of the books. It is great for a lazy afternoon or just before bed if you’re going to have someone join you.
This book should come with the warning: May make you hot and bothered. Have relief methods available.
Melanie Bradshaw is driven to horny desperation by her torrid dreams. When she finally acts on her desires, things go horribly wrong and she witnesses the murder of an overly amorous lounge lizard—whose body disintegrates before her eyes.
Detective Moses Brown isn’t thrilled to get another “full-moon case”…until he meets the delectable Melanie, who took a walk on the wild side straight into vampire territory. Moses doesn’t know why vamps are interested in her, but until he can find out, he’s going to stick to her like glue, doing his best to ignore their instant attraction.
But pretty little Melanie has designs on his body. Her hunger for sex is voracious, even downright insatiable. How’s a brother to resist?
