My Awfully Wedded Husband

I read the blurb for this book and expected a light-hearted comedy that would keep me laughing. Instead, I got a drama. However, the drama I got was excellent. From cheating spouses and fights over property, this story brought you into four women’s lives and those lives came alive. You felt as if you knew these women and their struggles. They could have been you or a neighbor. The characters were well thought out, though some aspects were at times over the top. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters interactions and how they were struggling to figure out each next move. I wasn’t sure how this story would end with happy endings, yet it did. I would have never guessed this was a debut novel as it flowed together seamlessly and was well developed. Now, let me go back to the comedy aspect. There are things that are funny which enriches this story. They are wrapped into the drama and makes sure that this isn’t a tear jerker. Though not what I expected, I enjoyed reading this story. I really did love it from beginning to end. There were twists and turns I wasn’t expecting and endings that shocked me. This is an excellent debut novel and I expect that Ms. Stewart has a terrific career ahead.

They met a college and truly had little in common. This became apparent as they answered questions to join a sorority. Yet, Jocelyn, Vanessa, Mariah and Toni became best friends, as close as sisters. These ties continued after they graduated though they didn’t see each other often. So, when they meet back up after years apart, they instantly start to help each other deal with failing relationships. Not everything will turn out as planned but these women will work through it. But, will they come through to the other side happy?

Book Blurb for My Awfully Wedded Husband

Jocelyn, Mariah, Vanessa and Toni have two things in common. One is their disastrous marriages, well in Toni's case make that her disastrous seven-year engagement. And the second is their eternal bond of sisterhood, which they're going to need when their husbands do the unforgivable. A fresh and fun fiction debut for every fan of romantic comedy.
