Mischief, Mongrels and Mayhem

ROAR, #1

This short story had me laughing in places and cringing in others. Misunderstandings abound as Missy learns of a whole new world in the small college town she lives in. She may be clueless but she’s also standing her ground. Her character is awesome as she quickly processes lots of information and shows her independence and feistiness. Cade isn’t as clear cut as Missy but he’s a sexy alpha which means good eye candy if nothing else. Though short, this story is complete and sets up what looks to be an awesome paranormal series with plenty of intriguing characters that I can’t wait to learn more about. The world that is introduced is complex making it extremely interesting and fun. I’m not sure where everything is leading but I plan on following along!

Missy has no clue about shifter society, politics or anything. She’s never met another shifter in all of her 19 years. Now, suddenly they are coming at her from everywhere. Cade is looking for land for his pride. He doesn’t expect to find a shifter in a class he is teaching, much less one who doesn’t respect his role as an alpha. Of course, he doesn’t start off well, when he insults Missy calling her a mongrel. But, he’s more confused when he figures out he’s attracted to her. That’s not his only issue. There are a lot more shifters than he expected in this area. What to do? Shifter society can be violent and Cade may have a war on his hands.
