Miracle in New Hope

A Novella

A mystical miracle set just after the Civil War would be a perfect way to describe this wonderful Christmas story. The characters come alive and the heartbreak that Lacy feels screams across the page. Daniel’s determination to find the little girl who keeps visiting him becomes an obsession. Still hope and love manage to find their way into their lives. Though the romance may not be as solid as the rest of the story, the overall affect is enough to make this a must read for fans of Kaki Warner and a should read for anyone who loves a good Christmas story.

Daniel Hobart lost his wife and son during the Civil War. He has scars on his face and tends to stay away from people. But while in town, an avalanche pushes through town and traps Daniel. He hears a young girl calling for help, but there was no child involved. Later, back at his place, he sees her and learns her name is Hannah Ellis. Lacy Ellis has been mourning the death of her daughter Hannah for a year so when Daniel comes to her house to learn why Hannah is out wondering around in the woods, both are shocked to discover what the other knows. Daniel has faith that Hannah is calling out to him and he’s determined to discover where she is, even if everyone else thinks he’s nuts. Can Lacy survive the heartache if Daniel discovers that Hannah really did die?

Award-winning author Kaki Warner presents an original story about following your heart, no matter the cost.

Amidst the snowy peaks of the Rocky Mountains in 1871, Daniel Hobart keeps to himself—a man with a hole in his heart that matches the scar on his face. But when Daniel starts having visions of a young girl crying out for help, he begins to fear that solitude may have caused him to lose his mind. Determined to find out the truth about the mysterious girl, Daniel travels into New Hope and learns that she’s the missing daughter of widow Lacy Ellis.

After a year of heartbreak, Lacy isn’t sure what to make of Daniel’s claims of seeing her daughter. But when he sets out to find Hannah on his own, Lacy decides to join him, allowing herself one last chance to hope. And as they retrace the long-cold trail of Hannah’s disappearance, two broken people manage to take some small comfort in each other, and in the possibility of a miracle…
