Micah & Mrs Miller

Fevered Hearts, #3

In this third book of Heather Long’s Fevered Hearts series, you are once again taken back to the old west with a unique paranormal twist. This series is full of adventure and daring as the Kane family finds the town of Dorado under tactic by other Fevered and Sam and his wife, Scarlett are expecting their first child. Micah finds himself attracted to the new schoolteacher, Jo but she’s on the run from an abusive husband. At first glance, it appears that the chaos that starts is caused by him coming after her, but looking deeper and that may just be the tip of the ice berg. Death and destruction may have a large part of this book but so does romance, family and loyalties.

Jo Miller knows she has to get out of New York and away from her husband so when she is offered a position as a schoolteacher in a small Texas town, she jumps on it and the train heading west. She’s met by Micah Kane and immediately they feel a connection but Micah assumes she’s a widow and Jo knows that she needs to keep her distance. So, that doesn’t matter as an outbreak of the spirit fever soon starts taking lives! Micah is going to do everything he can to keep Jo safe but even he can’t stop the fever. And, when Dorado and the Kane Ranch have Fevered from New York attacking, will there be enough people alive to even fight them?

This story can be read without having read the previous two books but they are so different and interesting that you’re going to want to read the entire series. This one not only lets you see how beloved characters are doing but sets the series up for some epic confrontations in the future. I can’t wait until the next book is available! This series is addicting.
