Lead Me On

Heart of Fame, #5

At points this book was heartbreaking. Truly, I was hoping against hope for a wonderful ending for everyone but it was not meant to be. Wait a minute, I’m talking about a secondary character, NOT the primary characters in this awesome story. Because the romance part of this story is awesome and hot and sweet and a whole lot more. Looking beneath the public image shows Samuel to be a different person than the narcissistic rocker that he does so well. The two sides of him compliment him and make him a totally intriguing character. Lily hates everything that comes with rock and roll. She has her reasons for being that way but can she look at things differently? Very realistic feeling from the drug use to the aging rocker view. This is part of a series about the band but can be read without having read any of the previous stories. However, all of the stories are fantastic and should be read!

Lily’s brother has the chance to be the lead singer for a famous band which is a great opportunity but one she’s not sure he should even be thinking about while he’s in rehab due to a drug problem. She knows the temptations that will come with fame and worries about her brother. But when Samuel Gibson walks into the rehab to talk to him, Lily can’t believe how attracted she is to him when he represents everything she hates. It doesn’t help when her brother arranges for her to show Samuel around until he gets out of rehab to try out for the band. Samuel isn’t sure if he’s attracted to Lily because she’s not hanging on him or if it’s her prickly personality. Regardless, he’s wanting to spend some time with her to find out. Can Lily see the man behind the public image? Does Samuel have something to offer besides the public image? And, what role will Lily’s brother play in their relationship?

Book Blurb for Lead Me On

He may rock her world, but she will shake him to his soul.

Brooding. Arrogant. Narcissistic. Rock legend Samuel Gibson has worn all these labels—and he’s in no hurry to drop them. Until he meets Lily Pearce, whose brother would be the perfect new singer for the band. There’s an allure beneath Lily’s prickly demeanor that makes Samuel wonder if it’s time to correct some of the misconceptions trailing behind him like a mile of bad microphone cord.

After watching her brother get chewed up and spit out, Lily has no love for the hedonistic world of rock ’n’ roll, or anyone in it. Yet her own body betrays her with an instantly sizzling sexual attraction to the very symbol of everything she hates about that lifestyle—Samuel Gibson.

Things heat up and Lily’s heart is on the line once she starts to catch glimpses of the man beneath the reputation. But can she reconcile her feeling for Samuel with everything she knows his world to be?

Warning: Be prepared for sex, drugs, and rock ’n’ roll. As well as molten, relentless seduction. And heartbreak. Because rock stars rarely play by the rules.
