This book is part of a wonderful series but it can stand alone and be thoroughly enjoyed without having read the previous books. Expect to feel warm feelings and have happy thoughts throughout this fantastic romance. The characters are well developed and extremely interesting. What makes them even better is that they are shown in context of their families and friends giving them a depth not always seen in a romance. However, don’t expect everything to be sunshine and roses because there are some definite issues between Colton and Lucy like the locations of their jobs which aren’t even in the same state! Plus each family is assuming either Colton or Lucy needs to move. There was a reason they were keeping their relationship a secret! There is plenty of love and laughter but there is also some hard decisions to be made. This story reflects real life and all its complexities yet it don’t get bogged down. I thoroughly and completely loved this book and look forward to reading more about the Abbott family.
Colton Abbott has secretly been seeing Lucy Mulvaney since they first meet weeks ago. Neither wants to share that information with their family because they know that it can never evolve into anything more than a fling. Colton is being to want to let his family know but Lucy isn’t sure she’s ready yet. But, when Colton’s older brother and his fiancé, Cameron show up at the family cabin where Colton and Lucy are spending the weekend, the secret is out. Now what? Lucy isn’t leaving New York and Colton can’t leave Vermont.
There’s a budding romance on Butler Mountain, but in the hornets’ nest known as the Abbott family, keeping a secret is no easy feat?
Colton Abbott and Lucy Mulvaney have a secret. Colton’s nosy siblings have begun to put the pieces together, but it’s not like Lucy to keep things from those closest to her?especially her best friend, Cameron, who recently moved to Vermont to live with her true love, Will. But Lucy isn’t about to tell Cam she’s having a fling?with Will’s brother.
Flitting between New York and Vermont is exhausting, so Lucy is looking forward to a long weekend with Colton at the Abbott family lake house in Burlington. Too bad Will and Cameron have the same idea, and once Colton and Lucy are caught red-handed (and red-faced), will their clandestine romance lose its appeal or will their secret beginnings be the start of something lasting?
