When you think Amish romance, or any other type of Amish story, you don’t immediately think of the dark side of life. In this story that dark side is very much part of the story. Domestic violence and assault are major themes throughout this story with a very surprising ending. For this story could be set in any small town and within any community. It’s a mixture of good people, some not so good and a few bad ones. It has those that have left the community but still have ties and those that returned to it. In other words, this is a very complex story that will capture your interest as well as your imagination. There are definite highs and lows. Friendships are tested. Family ties are as well. In the end, it all comes together in a fantastic way. I really enjoyed this story with romantic elements set in a mystery within a little known community.
