Five awesome authors and five terrific stories are in this anthology that will leave you looking for more. Each story is independent of the others and reflects the author that wrote it. While you don’t have to be a follower of any of the authors to thoroughly enjoy their story, some of these stories may be a spin-off of a series. (Not sure on most of them but one does take secondary characters and gives them a nice story.) Each story is complete and has a few things in common; basically a hot guy, hotter sex and a happy ending. I enjoyed all of the stories and occasionally wished they were a bit longer. (Stories are roughly between 40 and 70 pages.) This is a great book for when you want a whole story but don’t have much time to read. Besides, you may find an author that you haven’t read to love.
Gayle boyfriend is BOB, battery operated boyfriend, or in other words her vibrator. She’s been comparing men to her first love, Tristan for years. Now she’s headed back to the small Montana town she left to oversee the selling of her mother’s bar. In Batteries Not Required by Linda Lael Miller, Gayle is hoping to not see Tristan but that hope is quickly dashed. Can she get in and out of town without losing her heart again?
James loves his soon to be ex-wife Ella but hates her job as an investigator. When he finds her handcuffed naked to a towel rack in Mexico, this feeling is only reinforced. Still he’s drawn to her. Can they come up with a compromise? Find out in Captivated by Jill Shalvis.
Every guy Tabby knows falling in love with her younger sister. Tabby knows and understands this. So, when a sexy Brit shows her some attention, she quickly gives him all the information she can on her sister. After all, a man like Calder isn’t going to want someone like her! But, he does and Calder knows he has some work to do in order to get Tabby to realize that. In Lucy Monroe’s Seducing Tabby.
No Shirt, No Shoes, No Service by Kate Angell has you playing on the beach. Violet has plans for her life and being with a beach bum isn’t one of them. She’s saving up to buy her own restaurant, if her younger sister would stop needing money. Five years ago her boyfriend, Brad left to help her realize her dream and when he returns he looks just as poor when he left. Violet still loves him but what about her dream?
Cat Johnson nails it with A Fish Out of Water, or should I say hooked it. Mark isn’t too sure about a camping trip with fishing involved. He’s more of a wine tasting type of guy. If he could figure out how not to go, he would. Carla is looking forward to a break from her hard work. A night of camping and fishing sounds perfect, even if it is with a bunch of academics. Opposites attract almost immediately with some interesting things happening on this overnight. (This story is based on some very secondary characters from Cat Johnson’s newest series, Oklahoma Nights)
