This is the second book in a series about good friends. The first book was good but this book is better. Get ready for an awesome romance that will teach you about hemophilia. It’s also going to teach you about dreams, limits and compromises. This is so much more than just a romance. There are friends who care about each other, a daughter from a one night stand and medical issues that change lives. Secrets are kept and found out as Alex struggles with a daughter he just met and an attraction he doesn’t want. Maya pushes herself towards her goals while dressing up as a super hero. Her wacky sense of self makes her a totally fun character. The interpersonal relationships throughout this book are fantastic. No one is an island and it takes a community to make things happen. I finished this book going, darn I loved it. Now, I can’t wait until the next story. BTW, don’t worry if you haven’t read the first book. They are independent of each other though the characters from the first book are in this one.
Alex finds himself drawn to the woman in purple as she demonstrates working with a bo. He knows his daughter would love it but can she be safe doing it. Alex is willing to find out but before he can he ends up helping out to teen with unwanted attention. Maya doesn’t need help but she isn’t going to turn down the hot looking guy who stepped in to help. She doesn’t expect him to start asking questions about super heroes though and suddenly, she becomes a subject matter expert for a single dad trying to connect with his daughter. Will it go any further than that?
