Falke's Peak

Dakota Tokala sees hot male models all the time in her job as an ad executive but nothing prepared her for entering Catamount Outfitters and the 5 sexy guys that run it. They could easily becomes top models but they are the real thing.

Of course, this isn’t where Dakota had planned on spending her vacation. Well, she planned on spending it in Leavenworth, WA but skiing with a couple of girlfriends, not hiring a guide to take her up the mountains. But when one of her girl friends got hurt prior to the trip, the other invited her fiancée to take her place. Now, Dakota feels like she doesn’t belong leading her to decide to make some alternate plans which is why she is at Catamount Outfitters.

Axel is the oldest brother, though just by minutes from his twin brother, and the owner of the shop. He agrees to take Dakota on her trip. What Dakota doesn’t know is that they will be accompanied by Gunnar, Alex’s twin but in his mountain lion form.

Dakota isn’t too sure about taking a wild animal with them even if Axel says he’s tame and safe. Her opinion quickly changes after Falke, the mountain lion, saves her life. Suddenly, Falke is a good kitty and Dakota starts telling him secrets that she doesn’t want Axel to know.

Dakota would love to find Axel in warming her bed and he seems interested. So, what is the problem?

The problem is, Dakota is a client and clients are hands off. Axel is loosing the battle so Gunnar suggests changing places. Will his will power be any better than Axel’s? Dakota may be their one, but do they dare share their secret with her? She has the power to let the media know and quickly.

This is the first book in a new series and I have fallen in love.

The characters are believable and lovable. Dakota is happy that her friend has found the man she wants to marry and understands that their vacation has kind of become a pre-wedding honeymoon. She’s a good friend. She’s also upbeat and friendly. The brothers are brothers. They fight and have fun together. Alex and Gunnar have never shared a woman before even though they know that they will share a mate. Getting their minds around that Dakota may be the one, even though they didn’t think they were old enough and ready, took a little doing but they look at the reward as well worth it.

Having been to Leavenworth, though in the summer, the setting of this book was done very well. It is a quaint town that appears to be a Bavarian village. I’ve been in those too as I lived in Bavaria for 5 years. As the characters strolled down the streets or were up in the mountains, I could easy visualize the scene. We found the streets of Leavenworth to be full of tourists, even in the summer but the shop keepers were friendly and helpful. Mountains towered over the town and ski runs are obvious. Excellent location for this story.

The shifter part of the story had depth. When Dakota was learning this secret, she was told that the men didn’t have all the answers as their was no one to ask. They knew some things and shared but not everything. This not knowing made these men vulnerable though they really aren’t.

I want more!!!! I really did fall in love. This family is awesome and with 4 more brothers to find mates and a sister, I find myself impatient to know what next. I found myself wrapped up in the story and not wanting to put it down or be bothered. It kept my interest from the first page to the last. There are web pages listed at the end, and I couldn’t wait to see if I could learn more about these great characters. I need more!

Yes, I highly recommend this story. It has it all. A warm, loving family with a great big secret, sexy guys that hang out as wild animals, believable story line places in a scenic location and hot sex tangled up with explosive emotions. Yes, I think that is about as good as it can get.
