I really liked this story. It’s full of misunderstandings and seeing what you want. Blake is in a family business and is totally focused on work. Kira has a degree she doesn’t use as she figures out what she wants to do. And, she can afford to do that. Blake and Kira clash in more than their views on work. Those clashes will have their trust tested and their beliefs evolving. There is just the prefect balance between being realistic and stereotypic. Best of all, cute adoptable dogs are seen throughout the story. Large and small, the dogs are a major factor and may help Blake and Kira find the love they want.
Blake has plans on how to develop the town’s historic district and it doesn’t include saving many of the buildings. This riverside development is going to be modern and slick. Kira’s mother owned a historic building and Kira wants to save it. It’s going to be an uphill battle as her father has signed off on selling it for the new development. She’s not going down without a fight. But, when Blake offers her a position as his secretary, will she take it and will he really look into changing his plans?
He broke all his rules... for her.
Real estate development CEO Blake Whitman is an Aquarius with a philanthropic nature, but when it comes to work, he's driven and focused, and he would never, ever mix business with pleasure. As far as he's concerned, office romance is off the table.
He also never backs down from a challenge, and Kira Layton just accused him of ruining the community. What better way to get her on his side than to hire her?
But the more he tells himself to keep his hands off his new, sexy secretary, the harder it is for him to come up with reasons why office romances never work and why it's a bad idea to cross the line...
