Black Hills Desperado

Black Hills Wolves, #3

This is a short paranormal romance. However, it is also a lot more. There is plenty of violence and legal stuff along with the mating desire. If fact, if you didn’t know it was part of the Los Lobos series, you couldn’t tell until almost the end of the story. There isn’t a lot of interaction between Xio and the pack until then. Plus, not many of the pack members are truly shown in this story. It really is just about Xio and Marcus. As it is so action packed, it kept my interest easily. But, because it is so short, I felt like I needed more story. Still, as it is part of a series, I hope that I will see more of this couple in later books, even if it is just a glimpse. Moral decisions have to be made which will change the direction of Xio’s life. Other members of her family are mentioned but not really developed. For a story about how a pack member returned to Los Lobos, this was a good fit.

Xio ran away from her pack 10 years previous when the alpha kept trying to marry her off to a stranger. The first person she comes in contact with is a Mexican drug lord. She ends up staying with him and for fun starts robbing banks. This carrier in crime comes to a halt when Agent Marcus Cazador sets up a trap. Little did either of them know but this becomes more than just trapping a criminal. It becomes the trapping of their hearts.

Book Blurb for Black Hills Desperado

She’s a bad girlfriend.

Nothing Xio Davis does is right. When she abandons her pack, riding out of town on the back of a stranger’s motorcycle, she finds she’s bitten off more than she can chew. First, it’s small-time crimes, then bank robbery. As Xio sinks into the criminal underworld, the FBI catches up with her. Now, she’s got one way out: snitch.

When Xio turns state's evidence against a Mexican drug lord, Agent Marcus Cazador steps up to take her home, giving up his career, his place in the El Paso pack, and all he knows to protect her.

Xio claims she’s not the same wolf who left ten years before, but can she convince Marcus she’s changed her wicked ways? Or will the Black Hills be the end of the road on her long journey to redemption?
