This story is short, sweet and was a pleasure to read. While the characters weren’t fully developed they didn’t come across as cardboard cutouts either. With only 66 pages, you can’t get a lot of depth! Still, Granger has several facets that he shows; businessman, son and lover; and Roslyn expresses her belief in giving back to kids very well. Romance gets mixed up with business and hard lines become blurred. One of the best things about this story is the believability. It felt real and possible. Though I wouldn’t say that this is one of Ms Wine’s best works, it’s still a good story and I enjoyed it.
Granger’s mother wants a Wish Bear for Valentine’s Day and her birthday which is the same day. It’s the only thing she wants and even though there is a waiting list for this bear, Granger is determined to get her one. Roslyn has no problem telling Granger to get to the end of the line. She’s heard the story that a guy wants a bear for his mother before and it’s usually for a girlfriend. But, when she finds herself needing help, Granger steps in and does much more than she expected. She’s beginning to like this guy but does she dare break her own rules and put him to the front of the line?
Granger never lets his mother down, and when she wants a highly coveted toy, Granger knows he’ll move heaven and earth to get it.
Roslyn is used to men thinking they can jump the line to get a Wish Bear, her special creation. She’s never granted the request before, but then again, she’s never dealt with Granger before.
As Granger and Roslyn face off, neither can deny the attraction that thrums between them. Wild need draws them closer. A stuffed bear could be the ticket to their happy ending, if only they can find common ground.
