This is the third book in an awesome series called Legal Briefs. Each book stands alone so jump right in with this one. You’ll want to go back and read the other two as they are that good. This story is about misunderstandings, manipulative girlfriends, and second chances. Though I didn’t really appreciate the beginning of the book as it immediately drops back to previous weeks, it wasn’t that big of an annoyance. The story was addictive as you wanted to know what happened and why. It had to be good because Kennedy was still holding a grudge and it happened in high school! Even more intriguing is that whatever it was is affecting Kennedy at work. And, yeah, it was life changing. So, even though Kennedy and Brent are butting heads for much of the book, their interactions are emotionally charged and totally electric. I loved that they had to deal with their issues, their work, their families and their friends all while figuring out what the heck happened. It really brought their lives to life and made them feel real. I loved the pay back too. Better than all of that is the extended epilogue. Wonderful story of a second chance and love.
Brent has no desire to marry. He’s having way too much fun playing the field. He doesn’t even like to date someone for more than a short time. But, when he bumps into Kennedy, he may change his mind. Brent and Kennedy grew up next door to each other and attend the same high school. For a short night Brent actually thought they might get together but something happened the next day that changed that. Brent is more than willing to get to know Kennedy again but she’s not having any of it. Can Brent get Kennedy to give him another chance?
The New York Times bestselling author of the Tangled books returns with the third romance in the Legal Briefs series, a collection of sexy novels about first crushes, second chances, and the final verdict of the heart.
When Brent Mason looks at Kennedy Randolph, he doesn’t see the awkward, sweet girl who grew up next door. He sees a self-assured, stunning woman…who wants to crush the most intimate—and prized—parts of his anatomy beneath the heels of her Louboutins.
When Kennedy looks at Brent, all she sees is the selfish, Abercrombie & Fitch catalogue–worthy teenager who humiliated her in high school in order to join the popular crowd. A crowd that made those years a living hell for her.
But she’s not a lovesick social outcast anymore—she’s a Washington, DC, prosecutor with a long winning streak. Brent is the opposing attorney in her next case, and Kennedy thinks it’s time to put him through a little hell of his own.
But things aren’t exactly working out the way she planned. Brent has his sights set on Kennedy, and every fiery exchange only makes him want her more—and makes her wonder if he’s as passionate in the bedroom as he is in the courtroom. In the end, they may just find themselves in love…or in contempt of court.
