This is the first book in a new series but fans of Marie Harte will be pleasantly surprised to find several characters from other series showing up in this one. It’s amazing how she intertwines her stories yet each stands alone. Yes, you don’t have to have read any of her other books to pick this one up and jump into an awesome series. The characters quickly come alive and take on their own lives. None of them are perfect but they are perfectly flawed. Ava has a check list of what she wants in life and in a potential spouse. Landon doesn’t match anything on any of her lists! Landon is adjusting to civilian life and sharing a house with his younger brother who has bad PTSD. The Donnigan family is definitely unique and yet could be your next door neighbors. I loved this story and all the interactions between the characters. There were times that I wanted to shake some sense into some characters and other when I wanted to just hold them. These characters became much more than just some made up people. The story was well paced and believable. I am so ready to read more about this family and can’t wait until the next book comes out. Anyone who loves a good romance will love this book!
Ava knows what she wants out of life and what kind of man she wants by her side. She has lists and all she has to do is check things off. She’s signed up to dating services but that spark is not anywhere.
Landon was injured in the line of duty and he ended up medically retired. Now, adjusting to civilian life, he head to the gym daily trying to ignore most of the women in there. However, one has attracted him but Ava has shot him down. Can this determined Marine change her mind?
Meet the Donnigans
With the eldest Donnigan brothers adjusting to civilian life, their younger sister constantly in trouble, and their little brother clueless about life in general, falling in love is the last thing on anyone's mind...
Can this Bossy Badass Marine...
The Marine Corps was everything Landon Donnigan ever wanted in life...until a bullet sent him home with a medical discharge. Teaching a self-defense class at the gym is old-hat for a Marine, but when he meets sexy Ava Rosenthal, his combat skills are useless for protecting his heart.
Be her Mr. Right?
Ava can take care of herself and likes quiet, bookish men-not muscular warriors who think women need to be coddled. But Landon is more than he seems, and when they come together, the results are explosive.
