A Monster and a Gentleman

Monsters in Hollywood, Book 5

This is the 5th book in Lila Dubois’s Monsters in Hollywood series but don’t let that stop you from reading this truly different and interesting paranormal romance. While the cast of characters may confuse those that haven’t read this series, they will soon straighten out and the magic will begin.

Drama and romance got together perfectly in this story which is more than a paranormal romance; it would work well as a fantasy story also. Yes, there is romance and in this story more than just Cali and Seling because a female monster is brought into the mix, a banshee and she finds love with the man she thought she was coming to kill. He may have missed being killed but someone is leaking pictures of the monsters and an all out battle is about to happen. It’s more than a fighting scene in the movie and people will die! Will this movie ever get finished? Will the monsters be accepted? Can they really find true love among the human? Stay tuned because all these questions will be answered by the end of this enjoyable series.

Cali doesn’t have time for love. She’s seen what it does to people by watching her parents and she has a lot of better things to do than play games. She will agree that she is drawn to Seling, one of the monsters starring in her movie but getting involved with him is not in her best interest, even after giving in to a wonderful night of pleasure. Seling wants to date Cali and doesn’t understand her reasoning at all. He’s willing to honor her wishes but he’s totally confused. When someone leaks pictures of the monsters though, everyone’s priority is to figure out who did it. The monsters have a Seer come to find the culprit. It’s not who everyone thinks it is, or even their second guess. They need to learn who and why before the para-military group that thinks monsters are demons learns of the movie’s location. Can they do it? Against this background, Cali learns that love isn’t what she thinks it is but will she have time to act on her new knowledge?

Book Blurb for A Monster and a Gentleman

The heat he brings isn’t movie magic. It’s real.

Cali knows exactly what will happen if her latest movie fails. It won’t just destroy her directing career and company, Calypso Productions. It might mean global war, and the extinction of an entire race of beings—the monsters.

The last thing she can afford is distraction in the form of a midnight-haired, caramel-skinned monster who can—literally—bring on the heat.

Seling enjoys humans, and not, as some have suggested, as a snack. As one of the stars of a movie that will allow his people to come out of hiding, he especially enjoys watching the movie’s intensely focused, human director.

After one particularly frustrating day on the set, Cali and Seling give in to a blistering night of pleasure. Seling wants more; Cali isn’t ready to risk her heart. But it all may become moot when someone leaks raw footage that could incite the very panic they’re trying to avoid.

And the only way to find the culprit is to unleash a monster so dangerous that it’s like bringing a nuclear bomb to a knife fight.

Warning: This title contains a strong-willed woman, a banshee (no, they’re not the same person) and two men who know how to please their woman.
