The Gollywhopper Games

The New Champion

The Gollywhopper Games: The New Champion, written by Jody Feldman is the second installment of the Gollywhopper games. Cameron Schein and his older brother Spencer scored two of the highly sought after slots in the regional round of the Gollywhopper Games. A highly televised competition which is sponsored by a large toy company has the main characters competing on the way to the finals. Chock full of puzzles, riddles and challenges for the reader to solve right along with the main characters. The challenges are brain teasers with a physical element.

This up to date plot, nonstop action, clever puzzles and great character development will grab any middle graders' attention as well as having a positive message wrapping up the story. While targeted to the middle grades of 7th through 9th, my daughter who is currently beginning 6th grade loved this book. Just like the first, it's great to offer to those kids who like math and logic but not to read. I love this genre of puzzle books!
