Crimson Realm Chronicles continues in this fourth book in the series. In "Sword of Judgement" we get more of Erica and Laro’s continuing relationship as well as a glimpse into past connections as well as future ones. Like book two this one focuses more on the fantasy aspects of the series and moves the series forward. As a reader of both romance and fantasy this series fulfils my two great literary loves. Bradley and Jameson know how to tell a great fantasy tale as well as make the romances shine. I’ve come to love all the main characters in this evolving series.
In prior series reviews I’ve already discussed the series premise. So, I will jump over that this time and get right into this book.
In this installment we have several main sections. It starts off with the King being really sick and a cure is needed before he goes mad. This leads Laro, Erica and others to go on a perilous journey to a new area of the planet. With the direction of the goddess they get a map to lead them on the correct path.
Between the pages of this book we also have the rising of a brand new sorcerer, the death of a man and the mystery of who is hosting Zohmes in their body. Plus more journeys to new and exciting places. Both fantasy and romance fans alike will enjoy the journey and discovery of new places and characters.
Readers of this series need to know that these books can’t be read out of order. So make sure to start with “In Search of Pride”. I’ve got a full list with series order numbers on the Night Owl Romance pages for Gabriella Bradley and Taryn Jameson.
Betrayed by several members of her crew, Erica now finds herself in a race to beat the clock. A rare poison injected into the king’s blood from the blade of her sword, threatens his life.
Erica joins her lifemate, Laro, and the rest of the team, on a mission rife with danger to search for the antidote to save the king. With an angry god bent on destroying the royal line by any means possible, the team doesn’t know who to trust or what Zohmes will do next.
Can Erica find a way to prove the innocence of her crewmembers before the blade of judgement falls?
