Kerrelyn Sparks' Embraced series just gets better and better. In this third installment we get Gwennore's story. She's the Elf. The premise of these books is that four girls were sent away from their families and to an island since they were born the night the twin moons eclipsed. This is also called the embracing of the moons... hence the series title. They have been brought up in a monastery and think of each other as sisters. Each girl has a power, as do all babies who are born during the embracing of the moons. All the girls are now of adult age and seeking their adventures. I love these girls and I'll be sad when the last one is settled in with another magical hubby. Why couldn't there be more sisters! Kerrelyn Sparks knows how to pull on your heartstrings and connect you with her characters.
Readers do need to read this series in order as each book build upon the past. Once you read book one, "How to Tame a Beast in Seven Days" you will want books 2 "So I Married a Sorcerer", 3 "Eight Simple Rules for Dating a Dragon" and 4 "Unknown Title".
In this book we have Gwennore and her dragon Silas. Gwennore has been abducted by a dragon and taken to a new place. She's had a hard time fitting in no matter where she is and suffers from low self-esteem. With her sisters, she's fine, but it's everyone else. By the end of the book she's going to find self-worth and people who love and accept her.
At this point we just have one of "sister" to get hitched. I think an elf boy might be in the cards for her. But Sparks hasn't really given us much on that.
